Badminton Asia Junior Championship LIVE: Junior World No. 4 Unnati Hooda is on a sensational form at the Badminton Asia Junior Championship as she is now just one game away from entering the final. Unnati sailed past South Korea’s Min Ji Kim in quarter-finals in straight games to cofirm atleast a bronze medal. Apart from Unnati, four more medals are confirmed for India as Gnana Dattu and Anish Thoppani in U-15 Boys Singles. Unnati Hooda, who is the top seed in the U-17 Girls category assured herself of a medal as she defeated South Korea’s Min Ji Kim in quarter-finals in straight sets 21-15, 21-18. With this victory, she has won her fourth successive match in straight games in the tournament and looks a strong contender for the title. She will be facing Japan’s Mion Yokouchi. Yokouchi defeated South Korea’s Do Yeon Kim in straight games in the quarterfinal.

In the U-15 Boys category,Gnana Dattu advanced to the semifinal after defeating Indonesia’s Radithya Bayu Wardhana 21-11, 13-21, 21-11 in the quarterfinal. He will next face Chinese Taipei’s Chung-Hsiang Yih in the quarterfinal. The Taiwanese enter the semis after a straight game victory against Japan’s Yuito Shinkai.

India’s Anish Thoppani also advanced to the semis after stunning fifth seed Glend Rumondor  22-20, 19-21, 21-12. He will next be up against a Chinese Taipri’s second seed Lee Yu Jui. The Taiwanese is yet to drop a game in the tournament so far. India’s Boys Doubles pair Bjorn Jaison and Aathish Sreenivas will face Chinese Taipei’s Chi-Ruei Chiu and Shao Hua Chiu in the semifinal.
