Asia Mixed Team Badminton LIVE: India vs China LIVE – After confirming a medal in the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships, India and China are set to battle for a spot in the final. Both the teams have made their way into the semifinal and will face each other on Saturday, 18th February 2023. India defeated Hong Kong 3-2 in the quarterfinal, while China clinched a 3-2 win against Malaysia. The match is scheduled to begin at 5.30 PM. HS Prannoy vs Zhao Junpeng 

India’s highest ranked player in Men’s Singles, HS Prannoy is expected to return to action in the Men’s singles. Parnnoy was rested for the the match against Hong Kong. He last featured in the group match against Malaysia, in which he defeated World No.4 Lee Zii Jia.

Zhao Junpeng too missed his team’s quarterfinal contest against Malaysia. The Chinese World No.12 featured only in one game so far in the tournament. He played against South Korea and defeated Cho Geonyeop in three games.

Both Prannoy and Junpeng have met thrice each and the Chinese leads 2-1. Prannoy however won their last meeting at the Denmark Open last year in straight games.

PV Sindhu vs Gao Fang Jie

China won’t have the services of their top plyers like Chen Yufei He Bing Jiao and Han Yue in the women’s singles. Gao Fang Jie, who is ranked 101st in the world is likely to face PV Sindhu.

Sindhu lost in the first game against Saloni Mehta in her previous game and had to secure a come-from-behind victory. The Indian will yet again be the favourite in the upcoming contest. Fang Jie meanwhile have won her last two matches against South Korea’s Kim Ga-eun and Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei.

In the Men’s Doubles, China’s top ranked pair are the 20th ranked He Ji Ting and Zhou Haodong. The Chinese pair have played two and won two matches in the tournament. They defeated Malaysia’s Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi and are now set to face India’s Dhruv Kapila and Chirag Shetty. The Indian pair are also entering the contest after a three-game win against Tang Chun Man and Yeung Shing Choi.

In the Women’s Doubles. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand are in terrific form. The duo defeatd Malaysia’s Thinaah Muralitharan and Pearly Tan in straight games and then went on to seal a win against Hong Kong’s Ng Tsz Yau and Ng Wing Yung. They will now face Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning.

In the Mixed Doubles, Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanishaa Crasto will be entering the contest after a loss. They will be up against Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping.
