• Novak Djokovic dropped a set in the second round against Luca van Assche. The Serbian however made a comeback and clinched a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 victory to enter the second round.
• He will now aim for a much better show against compatriot Dusan Lajovic in the third round.
• The World No.1 lost in the third round at Monte Carlo Maters last week He is now aiming to reach his maiden quarterfinal on clay courts this season.
• Ahead of the French Open this year, he is looking to get enough game time at the European clay court tournaments.
• Having won the Adelaide International title as well as the Australian Open so far this year, he is eyeing his third title of the season.

• Dusan Lajovic began his campaign at the Srpska Open by defeating compatriot Filip Krajinovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
• In the second round, he sealed a dominant 6-3, 6-0 victory against eighth seed Gregoire Barrere. He enters the upcoming contest with confidence.
• The 32-year old Lajovic had reached successive quarterfinals at Argentina Open, Rio Open and Chile Open earlier this year.
• He is aiming to replicate the form at the Srpska Open. However, he will now face compatriot Novak Djokovic in what will be a big challenge for the unseeded Serbian.

Djokovic vs Lajovic Head-to-Head: Both the players have met twice in the ATP Tour so far. Djokovic has won both the matches and leads the head-to-head record. Djokovic yet again enters the contest as the favourite.
