IPL 2023: RCB Injuries – Reece Topley is the latest in line of injuries for RCB as they began their campaign with an 8-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. Topley who started the game and bowled two overs had to go out of the field after hurting his shoulder while trying to save a boundary. Reece Topley will miss the trip to Eden Gardens after the tall English pacer injured his shoulder while trying to save a boundary. The incident took place in the 8th over of the game. Karn Sharma pitched a tossed-up delivery to Tilak Varma. The RCB star dived to save the ball and then failed to get up after injuring his right shoulder.

Slow motion replays revealed that during the dive, Topley landed the entire pressure of his body on his shoulder. With his awkward landing, Topley was in visual pain, clasping his injured shoulder.

• Rajat Patidar (Heel injury, NCA clearance awaited)
• Reece Topley (Dislocated shoulder)

Later it was confirmed that Topley had suffered a dislocated shoulder and would not take further part in the match. As for the injury, the shoulder was put back in place and RCB awaits further assessment of his injury. The England ace was taken for scans after being taken off the pitch. However, it is believed that the injury is not as serious as it was first feared.

Nonetheless it is a big blow for RCB who are already missing the services of Josh Hazlewood due to injury. The Australian pacer is expected to join the team sometime later during the IPL season. Wanindu Hasaranga also remains unavailable due to international commitments.

Will Jacks was the first casualty and he was ruled out for the season. Michael Bracewell came in as a replacement and featured in the season opener. Rajat Patidar is also an injury concern, with the India star yet to receive an NOC from NCA.
