Singapore Open LIVE: The Singapore Open 2023 badminton event, which is taking place from June 6 to June 11 in Singapore, has some of India’s top badminton players. Day 1 action will witness most of the major Indian players in action, including PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, and Saina Nehwal.

The Singapore Open will be the second Super 750 event of the season after the YONEX SUNRISE India Open 2023 and the twelfth competition on the 2023 BWF World Tour.

Singapore Open LIVE: Indian players in action on Day 1

The two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will begin her campaign against Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, who is currently the world no. 1 in women’s singles. Sindhu’s last meeting with the world no. 1 was in the quarterfinals of the Thailand Open 2022, where she won in three games.

Saina Nehwal, a former world number one, returned to the court after a sabbatical due to injury at the Thailand Open and will now face world no. 8 Ratchanok Intanon in her round of 32 match.

After early round exits in Spain, Malaysia, and Orleans Master, Aakarshi Kashyap will look to make her mark when she faces Supanida Katethong of Thailand.

Lakshya Sen has a big challenge ahead of him in the first round as he faces fifth seed Chou Tien Chen.

After winning the Malaysian Masters title, HS Prannoy will return to action and face third seed Kodai Naraoka in the first round match.

World no. 39 and Orleans Masters champion Priyanshu Rajawat will face Japanese world no. 14 Kanta Tsuneyama in his first-round match.

Kidambi Srikanth will face World No. 29 Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the first round. Srikanth will face a qualifier or Kenta Nishimoto, if he advances to the second round.

Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun will face the French duo of Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar in their round one encounter.
