Gleison Tibau vs Khabib Nurmagomedov: After UFC 148, Khabib Nurmagomedov still remained unbeaten after defeating UFC stalwart Gleison Tibau by unanimous decision (30-27×3). He improved to 18-0 in MMA and 2-0 in the UFC with the victory.
Even if Nurmagomedov was the winner, there was some debate surrounding it. Many thought Tibau should have won because he had more takedowns and appeared to be winning the striking battle. Although Nurmagomedov was able to hold Gleison against the cage for the majority of the fight, he was unable to take down Gleison and only managed to score a few strikes from that position.
Whether or not it was controversial, it was the 23-year-old prospect’s biggest victory and one that helped him advance in the lightweight division.

Gleison Tibau vs Islam Makhachev: A precise left hand from Makhachev (15-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) knocked out Tibau (33-13 MMA, 16-11 UFC) early in the first round, ending Tibau’s first fight in more than two years.
At UFC 220, the 30-year-old defeated Gleison Tibau in the fight’s quickest conclusion. 57 seconds into the first round, Makhachev successfully knocked out the Brazilian. Tibau was knocked out by the Russian’s jab-overhand left. The master of sambo made his fifth appearance in the organisation at UFC 220.
Islam Makhachev, a No. 4 ranked lightweight, has won his last 10 matches. The Russian has a professional record of 22-1. His lone defeat came at UFC 192 when Adriano Martins defeated him via TKO.
